Varalakshmi Sarathkumar is an Indian actress born on March 5, 1985 in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. She made her debut in the Tamil film Poda Podi (2012) as a dancer in London.
Varalakshmi was born to actress Sarathkumar and Chhaya, while her stepmother was Radhika. He is the eldest of four children and has a younger sister Pooja, a younger half-brother Rahul and his half-sister Ryan Hardy. Varalakshmi holds a degree in microbiology from Hindustan Arts and Science College, Chennai, where she holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Edinburgh. She acquired her acting skills at the Anupam Kher Acting School in Mumbai before becoming an actress.
Varalakshmi was signed on in June 2008 to star in Vignesh Sivan's romantic drama film Poda Podi (2012), excited by the opportunity to represent a London dancer. The film underwent a long development, which took four years to make, before its release in October 2012
