There is a fee to keep your Twitter account secure
One method of keeping Twitter accounts secure is two-factor authentication. From now on, users will have to pay a fee to avail of the two-factor authentication SMS to keep their Twitter account secure. Only paying customers will get this facility from now on. Twitter recently confirmed this.
In a tweet, Twitter authorities said that from March 20 of this year, only verified customers will be given a two-factor authentication facility.
Two-factor authentication is the way to keep your account safe on social media. If this method is enabled, no one can log in to the ID if they only know the password. The authority will send an OTP number to the user's mobile and the user can log in to the ID using it. But OTP can be used only once. A new OTP will be required every time to log in.
In response to a customer's question about whether Twitter is going to change its policy, Twitter owner Elon Musk said, "Yes, the company is changing the policy." The reason, he said, is that Twitter abusers use bot accounts to send messages to Two Factor, which causes the company to lose $60 million in profits every year.
Earlier only politicians, journalists, and other famous people were ID-verified. But from now on anyone can get their Twitter ID verified for a certain amount of money. It will cost eight dollars to verify the ID.
Earlier, in a press conference, the owner of Twitter said, from now on, only those who will verify their ID with a certain amount of money will be given a 'blue tick'. Its cost may increase to $19.99.
